Garden Gate at Haley Farm is excited to offer our in-house bartending service, Sweet Mint.  We are passionate about bringing your vision for a perfect bar to fruition, and lending our expertise and hospitality to  your wedding!

We will provide personalized planning for your wedding, a trained, professional staff, all the necessary tools, and we are fully insured to serve your guests. All you need to provide the beer, wine, and spirits!

Bar Services for 2024 - 25

OPTION 1 - Beer and Wine Only
This includes options for:
- 2 - 4 canned/bottled beers, ciders, and/or hard seltzers of your choice
- Three wines of your choice (red, white, sparkling/rosé)

Service Fee - $500
Bartending Staff - $40 per hour (gratuity included)
8 hours of service -
Set-up - 2 hours; Service - 5 hours; Clean-up - 1 hour
2 Bars - outdoor lawn for cocktail hour and indoor bar for dinner and dancing
*Bartending Staff will be adjusted according to your guest list. For example, if you expect 30 - 50 guests, only 2 staff will be necessary. If you expect 75 - 130 guests, 3 staff will be necessary. 150 guests, 4 staff will be necessary.


What does Sweet Mint Provide?

  • Menu planning and drink calculation

  • All necessary bar equipment (openers, pourers, taps, etc.)

  • Ice and tubs for chilling bottles

  • Glassware (water, wine, beer, and cocktail glasses, mugs)

  • Water in a self-serve beverage dispenser on the bar with cups

  • Set-up of bar, including chilling drinks, stocking bar with glassware, cutting garnishes, etc.

  • Bar service for up to 5 hours (weddings generally have the bar open for 1 hour of cocktails followed by 4 hours during the reception) and 2 hours for set-up and 1 hour for clean-up

  • General Liability Insurance

  • TIPS trained and insured bartenders

What do we (the couple) need to provide?

  • Alcohol

  • Garnishes (fruit, mint, herbs, etc.)

  • Mixers for signature cocktails including juice and soda

  • Juice and/or soda for those not drinking alcohol

  • Cocktail napkins, paper straws, and wood cocktail stirrers (all optional). Please note, we have a Zero Plastic Waste policy for all weddings. This includes no single use plastics like plastic straws, cocktail stirrers, bottled water, plastic cups and serving ware. We do allow Greenware and other compostable materials like bamboo. We will happily work with you to plan a wedding with limited waste and will recommend alternatives to plastic!

This includes options for:
- 2 - 4 canned/bottled beers, ciders, and/or hard seltzers of your choice
- Three Wines of your choice (red, white, sparkling/rosé)
- Two custom signature cocktails of your choice

Service Fee - $750
Bartending Staff - $40 per hour (gratuity included)

Additional Services

Champagne Pour - $1 per guest
We provide the flutes and pour the champagne right before your toasts, you provide the celebration!

Keg Set-up - starting at $225
You may provide kegs instead of bottles/cans. The fee includes a draft system to dispense the beer, set-up/break-down, and pint glasses. You are responsible for purchasing the keg(s), delivering them here on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning, and returning the keg(s). We will need to know how many kegs you are providing, and you may bring up to three kegs.

The fee for 1 - 3 kegs for 50 guests will be $225. The fee for 100 guests will be $250. This price does not change whether you have 1 keg or 3 kegs. The price will change slightly based on your guest amount and how many pint glasses are required.

We will help you determine how many servings of beer you need, but typically you need twice the amount of guests. For example, if you have 100 guests attending, we recommend 200 servings of beer.

Please note, when kegs are provided, they will be set-up behind the bar in the barn and cannot be moved. You may have your cocktail hour on the lawn outside the barn, and everything else on your bar menu will be served during cocktail hour. Once guests move into the barn for dinner and dancing, the keg will be available.

Hot Coffee and Tea - $125
Locally roasted coffee and a selection of teas set-up in a self-serve station after dinner with cream, milk, a dairy alternative, and sugar. Mugs or to-go cups provided as well.

General Questions

Do we need to purchase insurance?
Yes, Garden Gate at Haley Farm requires you to obtain primary liability insurance for $1 million for each occurrence and $2 million for general aggregate.  Cover for the provision of alcohol must also be included (Liquor Liability Insurance) because you are providing the alcohol. Policies generally run between $100 - 200 for coverage and may be obtained through your homeowners insurance or through website like WedSafe.

Do we need to provide glassware?
We will make sure you have all the glassware you need! We will need to know how many guests are attending to determine how many drinks, what types of glassware we need, and how many we need. There is an additional fee if you have a Champagne pour for champagne flutes and an additional fee for kegs for pint glasses. Additional information is provided below for those two services.

If you want a specialty glassware (like vintage colored goblets!), we recommend checking out A Family Affair , One Stop/Wallace, and Gooseberry Tabletop and renting directly from them.

About half way through your event (around the time the dance floor opens!), we transition to compostable greenware cups for all drinks.

Can we have kegs instead of bottled/canned beers?
Yes, you may bring kegs. There is an additional minimum $225 keg fee. We will help you determine how many servings of beer you need, and you may have up to 3 different kegs.

We would love a champagne toast! Do you provide that?
Yes, you may have a champagne toast. There is a $1 fee per guest. We provide the flutes and pour the champagne, you provide the celebration!

How do you handle clean-up and trash?
We provide all the proper receptacles for waste (recycling, compost, and trash). Bar staff will bus tables throughout the evening to keep guests’ tables and other surfaces tidy.

Do you offer a Full-Service Open Bar?
At this time, we do not offer a Full-Service bar where guests may order any drink they would like. We offer a modified Open Bar option where the drinks are still "free" for all your guests (you, the couple, will purchase all the alcohol, mixers, etc. before the wedding), and there is a curated menu for the guests to select from.

In our experience, guests have always found a drink to enjoy, and we have had very few (if any) guests that were disappointed they could not get a specific drink.  Your guests know and appreciate you curated this menu for your day. They also appreciate the speed in which they receive a drink from the menu so they can get back on the dance floor! 

What if we want a cash bar?
If you prefer a cash bar, you will need to hire a service with a Catering Liquor License in Maine who will purchase and sell the alcohol to your guests. We are more than happy to help you in this instance.

Sweet Mint Caravan

We are so excited to introduce the Sweet Mint Caravan! Delight guests with a fun and unique bar experience from the window of our fully renovated vintage 1972 Shasta Compact named “Marietta.”

Marietta is available to rent as an add-on to your bar service and can be set-up on the cocktail lawn. We can provide bar service from Marietta during cocktail hour only (and then move service inside the barn for dinner and dancing) or we can keep it open for service the whole night. Your choice! Rental starts at $400.

Wish you could have Marietta at your wedding or event, but it is being held at a different location? If she is not booked for an event at Garden Gate, she is available for a Dry Hire. We will bring her to your venue and your insured bartender will serve, and we will pick her up the following day! Rental starts at $600 within a 1 hour radius of Sebago, Maine.
